Winter Retreats are offered the last three weekends in January and run from Friday evening through Sunday morning. They are held at the Philip Bongiorno Conference Center in Carlisle, PA. Halfway through (an event) school year is a perfect time to evaluate “how am I doing”? “Am I spiritually positioned to make the most of my opportunities? This retreat is at the half-way point in a student’s school year and challenges the students to make the most of the rest of their school year and their opportunities to represent Christ to their fellow students. The Fine Arts Festival is a valuable opportunity for students to discover and develop their ministry gifts and talents. Students are discovering God has given each one of them a gift that needs to be developed and shared with others. The Fine Arts Festival exists to allow students to sharpen their talents by being adjudicated by gifted and highly qualified individuals in the areas of music, drama, creative writing, and more. Each of the 12 geographical sections in our District has their own festival, which occurs every February. Those who receive a Superior with Invitation rating at Sections are invited to participate in the District Festival, which falls the Wednesday through Friday before Easter and is held at the Philip Bongiorno Conference Center in Carlisle, PA. Those who receive a Superior with Invitation at Districts are invited to participate in the National Festival, which occurs in August (location changes every year). The largest Assemblies of God District Youth Convention in the Nation is held the Thursday and Good Friday before Easter Sunday at the Giant Center located in the center of the “sweetest place on earth,” Hershey, PA. Youth Camps are offered the 3rd and 4th weeks in June and run from Monday afternoon through Friday morning. They are held at the Philip Bongiorno Conference Center in Carlisle, PA. Each week of camp is packed with high energy programming including activities, sports competitions, pool games, and powerful & anointed services. Camp is a life transforming opportunity for students to experience God. Many students experience the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for the first time and many are called into full time vocational ministry. Jesus said “Go into all the world.” Jesus has asked us to be witnesses at home as well as abroad. The dates for the AIM (Ambassador in Missions) trips are different each year, but generally fall in July through early August. This missions opportunity is approximately 10 days in a foreign country, where students will be trained and involved in street ministry, puppets, and personal evangelism The mandatory training week is held during the second week of Youth Camp. | Advance, our back to school retreat, is offered over Labor Day weekend and runs from Friday evening through Monday morning. It is held at the Philip Bongiorno Conference Center in Carlisle, PA. This retreat is at the beginning of a student’s school year and focuses on challenging and equipping students to reach their high school campus for Christ. There is a strong emphasis on See Youth at the Pole and Youth Alive. Preachers’ kids and missionaries’ kids of Assemblies of God credential holders in the Penn-Del District have their own retreat. PK/MK Retreat is offered the 3rd weekend in October and runs from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning. It is held at the Philip Bongiorno Conference Center in Carlisle, PA. This retreat is offered free of charge to the children of Penn-Del A/G credential holders as a gift. It addresses the challenges PKs/MKs face and encourages them to be confident in who Christ has created them to be as individuals and to strengthen their walk with Christ. STL Tour runs for three weeks in November. The District Youth Director visits each of the 12 sections in the district inviting all of the Youth Pastors and their spouse in the section to join him for a chance to hang out, have fun, and hear each others’ heart for ministry. The DYD shares about upcoming changes in the district youth ministries and also shares a vision for Speed the Light.
