What is STL?

Speed the Light (STL) is a student-led, Gospel-centered, and Spirit-empowered initiative that equips students to fulfill the Great Commission through sacrificial generosity. Through STL, students fund missionaries and missions organizations across the world with the core principle of making Jesus known!

  • Missionaries and organizations are provided with essential transportation and other necessities to share Jesus in their contexts:
    • Sharing the Gospel in the jungles of the Amazon becomes realistic when a missionary is gifted a jeep through STL.
    • Reaching deserted people groups to make disciples of Jesus is made possible with STL boats and motorbikes.
    • Ministering to those impacted by natural disasters can take place through STL semi-trucks.

  • When students give to STL at youth group or online, the money is sent to the PennDel Ministry Network office, then to the Assemblies of God national office in Missouri.
From there, the funds are sent directly to missionaries and missions organizations across the world!

  • Students raise funds in a variety of ways:

    • Organize Fundraisers
    • Earn Sponsorships for Challenges
    • Sell Handmade Goods
    • Pick Up Extra Jobs
    • Give Directly From Paychecks

  • Through STL, students across the PennDel Ministry Network and the United States, are being taught the value of giving all to the one who gave His all. In doing so, THE LOST ARE BECOMING FOUND!

2024 PROJECTS

2024 PROJECTS

In 2024, penndelyouth will be giving to two awesome missions organizations: AG Foster Care &
Worldserve International.

We will also be funding individual missionaries with resources they need to share the Gospel around the world!

  • There is a pandemic plaguing our country. Across the United States, Children of all ages are being abandoned and placed in Foster Care Networks. These young people are desperate to find a place to belong. They are struggling with the grief of loss and confusion that many their age do not have to handle. While many have been quiet or slow to aid students like these, in 2024, we, the students of penndelyouth, have something to say.

We are done with child abandonment. We embrace the biblical practice of sacrificial generosity. We pledge to care for the orphan and widow in accordance with James 1:27. Through STL, we are giving to see abandoned students be welcomed into homes where Jesus is celebrated as the King He is. Through Speed The Light’s partnership with AG Foster Care and Compact Family Services, we are funding missions to ensure this generation will know what it means to belong!

Compact Family Services is in need of resources for a much needed remodel and expansion of their facilities. Through our STL giving, young people will be welcomed into a system of care that teaches them about the love of Jesus and empowers families to adopt these young people.

  • To you and I, something as basic as water is accessible to us almost anywhere we go. Most often, to get clean drinking water, all you and I need to do is ask. Unfortunately, this is not a luxury for all. Since 1996, WorldServe International has set out to aid the World Health Organization in their goal of making universal and equitable access to clean water for ALL by the year 2030.

WorldServe International engineers, installs, and equips villages and people groups all over the world with equitable solar powered drinking water. Approximately 3 million people have been given clean water through WorldServe International’s efforts.

Through STL, we are aiding WordServe in their ability to solve the world water crisis. penndelyouth is giving to ensure people all over the world will have the necessary tools to meet the most basic of human needs: the need for water.

  • Mike & Anna Dascalescu - Romania
Assemblies of God World Missionaries Mike and Anna Dascalescu have seen a move of God in their country. Romania is home to some of the most down-to-earth people on planet earth. Unfortunately, 85% of the country is lost in a spiritual identity crisis. This group does not know what it means to be in a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Mike and Anna are seeing that percentage shrink before their very eyes! Through their church and ministry, they are seeing souls come to know that being a Christian means having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Through STL, we are funding Mike and Anna with the valuable transportation they need to continue sharing the power of the love of Jesus in Romania.

In January, students and youth groups set a goal for the year.
